Nutrition is a major element in the development of your child. We provide two snacks for your child, which include two foods from the four basic food groups, for morning and afternoon snack. If special dietary restrictions exist, parents will be asked to provide appropriate snacks for their child. The primary source of nourishment will be the breakfast your child will eat before arrival and the healthy, balanced lunch they bring from home or purchase from our food service (Himes Vending). Breakfast may be brought in to be served between 7:00am and 8:30am in all classrooms. Your child’s perishable items may be stored in the refrigerator, and we have a microwave available to warm up various food items. Parents are to note that their lunch must include the four food groups. We will provide assistance and literature in helping you prepare nutritious and balanced lunches upon request. Also, milk will be served with snacks and lunch. If you wish for your child to drink other beverages please place the beverage in your child’s lunch box or the refrigerator with your child’s name on it, and it will be served to your child for snacks and lunch. Please note that parents sending snacks and lunches that do not meet the nutritional requirements listed above may be charged for supplements to their lunch.
